Pigalle image conversion paths

Postby BigNick0 on Fri May 21, 2004 3:22 pm

I had a problem with my image conversion utility location. Here is a thread that Philip and I had, where he provided the solution. Posting it here in case anyone else has a similar issue:

Thanks for your great work with Pigalle!

I have a question. I cannot seem to get the image conversion to work
correctly. I have both GD AND ImageMagick installed, but I get the
following error:

Sd-Error: ImageMagick convert binary (/usr/bin/convert) was not found in /var/www/htdocs/pigalle/private/lib/sourdough/Sd_Image/Sd_Image_im.class.php [Sd_Image_im::_doConvert] on line 108

Can you tell me how to specify where Pigalle should find convert, since
its not located in /usr/bin/ but /usr/X11R6/bin/

In /private/lib/sourdough/conf/config.inc.php, you'll find the following (lines 84-90):

[php]// image library configuration
$conf['image'] = array(
'im_path' => '/usr/bin/',
'im_path_win32' => 'C:\\Program Files\\ImageMagick\\',
'netpbm_path' => '/usr/bin/',
'netpbm_path_win32' => 'C:\\Program Files\\NetPBM\\'

Change 'im_path' to /usr/X11R6/bin/.

I definitely recommend to use ImageMagick instead of Gdlib, as it is almost 10 times faster for image conversion.
Make sure you have safe_mode turned off, otherwise it won't work with the imagemagick binary.

take care

Same problem here but in Windows.

I'm running your software on Windows and when trying to use IM instead og GD I get the following error:

Sd-Error: ImageMagick convert binary (C:\Program Files\ImageMagick\convert.exe) was not found in C:\Program Files\Sambar\docs\nb\demo\gallery\privater\lib\sourdough\Sd_Image\Sd_Image_im.class.php [Sd_Image_im::_doConvert] on line 99

This error is in fact given even though the file in question is at the path above specified.
How could I fix this problem?

I can't seem to get the gallery to work... I get the
Sd-Error: ImageMagick convert binary

My host (www.one.com) doesn't support imagemagick is that why it won't work? I thought it would be possible to run it using GD library, but i can't work out the configurations.

Please help...

A litte bit late for an answer, but since i had the same problem, maybe this can be useful for other users:

in config.inc.php (where you also set the database configurations - see quick install instructions), you find the following line (65):

$conf['image']['driver'] = 'im'; // [im|gd|netpbm|peclim]

change 'im' to 'gd' for the GD library if you don't have ImageMagick.

In /private/lib/sourdough/conf/config.inc.php on line 105 you can try to change 'im' to 'gd'

$conf['image'] = array(
'driver' => 'im', // [im|gd|netpbm|peclim]

hope this helps
