I'm beginning to wonder if this might not be something done server side, such as an upgrade to php. On the 'broken' pages, where the image isn't displaying (ie, whenever there is a referer) then it looks like this when I check the properties:

(Image picture) referrer.php&r=(etc)

vs:

Address (URL) pphlogger.php?id=twinrose&referer=http%3A//www.twinrose.net/(same as above)

I wonder if this is because of the http:// ? Is that how is it locating the call in IE?

Essentially, if there's any referrer at all, then pphlogger won't log their hit - whether it's from an external or internal source.

Fix via Hack

Postby TRS_Chris on Wed Jan 24, 2007 4:24 am

I added a line of code to remove "http://" from the referring URL

// Added by TRS: remove http:
f = f.replace(/http:\/\//,"");

// escape the referral
f = escape(f);

Now logging perfectly. Sorry to bother you all, and hope this helps someone else having the same problem.

Hi PSN,

Thanks for the time you're spending on this.

I've changed phlogger 1.js to phlogger.js.

As you know, I have the phlogger.js code as a page in the site directory. But the only way I have found to copy the same code into all the directories (gallery, home, news etc) is to make copies and give each its own unique name, EG phloggerhome.js, and then uploaded each one. I bet that is totally wrong.

OK, I've just gone into each directory and changed each phlogger file to phlogger.js. Plus there's the same one sitting in the general site directory.

If this is wrong, please send instructions. And chocolate.

My sympathy to TRS_chris.

BTW, it still seems to be blocking the Google bots as all search results stop when I installed the log code.

No need! One line of code in my pphlogger.js file (shown above) fixed my problem, and I shared it in case anyone else was having the same problem. Hope you get your problems worked out.

I don't know how often they update the Google bots so you might wait and see in couple of days. Otherwise send a pm to the moderator and ask him for an advice in this area.

Good luck with your pphlogger!
