email_newuser_en.txt: missing explanation on pphlogger.js

Postby BHiker on Sat Jan 03, 2004 7:04 pm

It would be better if the following is explained in the email_newuser_en.txt

1) each login has a different pphlogger.js file.
2) due to the syntax of
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript" src="pphlogger.js"></script>, the pphlogger.js file must be in the same directory as the corresponding html file.

The 2nd point these is covered in the documents:

Make sure src="pphlogger.js" is refering to the correct location where you have placed your pphlogger.js. If you're not able to use a relative path, use an absolute path like src="http://www.your_domain.com/somewhere/pphlogger.js" , this works the same

Yes, right, perhaps the mail could contain a link to the documentation then. I think users have no pointer to it.

Yes, true. Bear in mind, the default install of PPHLogger is just a default. There are text file templates that you can edit that change things :)

The email templates are all located under the messages folder should you wish to edit anything within them.

Maybe in version three, the templates will be controlled via an admin script, that way new text files can be generated easily without having to edit lots of files and then re-upload them all :)
